The Concept of Holistic SEO
We’ve all heard of holistic health, haven’t we? Taking your entire body into consideration when you look at your health.
Most people see SEO, or Search Engine optimisation, as a way to get search traffic. They use it in order to attain better internet visibility, and to bring traffic to their site. That’s the whole concept of it right? The question is how can it be healthy if you’re not looking at the big picture?
SEO can be link building, social media, on page SEO, content writing, traffic driving, website load time and many other things. These things are separate entities, but are also part of a whole SEO trend and marketing plan for a healthy site.
The term or phrase SEO can be used to describe any of these things, but each, as we mentioned, is only a part. Typically, they will work best when they all work together.
As a former nurse, I often equate the processes that are involved in SEO with the same processes that are necessary to keep the body healthy.
Holistic health takes in to account the total health, realizes that full health cannot be attained without taking into account every component of the body. You can’t be healthy without considering the body, the mind, and the spirit. In much the same way, your website and your marketing can’t be healthy without holistic SEO.
Holistic SEO takes into account every process that goes into the website. It takes into account the design, development, the strategy of the content and social media. Holistic SEO plans and executes it carefully, one step at a time.
Holistic SEO realizes the relationship between the design of the site, the customer, the search engine, and the satellite aspects, such as article marketing, social networking and content. Each must be healthy, or the whole—in this case, your website– cannot realize optimum performance.
SEO is a holistic process
This means that–much like any other “see the big picture” process, one part of SEO feeds another portion of it. It also means that you must pay attention to every portion of the process in order to achieve what you want to do for your site.
Holistic SEO is nurturing every part of your website, and assuring the health of it. The on page content, is fed by the inbound links and the views from Twitter and other social networking methods, along with other things – so that every portion becomes a healthy and viable part of the overall.
Each component of your SEO, like holistic medicine, is an important part of the whole process. Each aspect will work in concert to assure the success of the website as a whole.
If you neglect one portion of your SEO, the other parts will not only be less effective, the website as a whole will be less healthy. Give your site a checkup every once in a while and make sure that you’re looking at the whole picture.
